Meet Assistant Principal Young

AP Young is a dedicated and passionate educator with a strong commitment to fostering student growth and success. Born and raised in the DMV, she developed a deep love for learning and teaching from an early age. 
 
She pursued a bachelor's degree at Bowie State University. During her undergraduate studies, she actively participated in student organizations, volunteered as a tutor, and completed internships at local schools to gain hands-on experience in diverse educational settings.  After completing her bachelor's degree, she decided to further enhance her skills and knowledge by pursuing a master's degree in administration & Supervision at the University of Phoenix. This advanced program allowed her to specialize in her chosen area of expertise and delve deeper into leadership and best practices in education. 
 
Throughout her educational journey, she has had the privilege of working with students across different age groups, from elementary to high school in urban education. She is skilled at building positive relationships, designing engaging and interactive lesson plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. She actively engages in professional development opportunities, attending workshops and conferences to stay updated on the latest educational trends and innovative teaching methods. She is deeply committed to making a positive impact in the field of education and inspiring the next generation of learners.
